Meet Giulia
Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Family and Systemic Psychotherapist & Cross-Cultural Expert
I’m Giulia Schembri, a Clinical Psychologist and Family Psychotherapist with over 15 years of international experience. I graduated in Clinical Psychology from La Sapienza University of Rome and trained further in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, EMDR, CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused interventions in Italy, the UK, and Australia.
My professional path has taken me across Dubai, France, Australia, and the UK, where I worked with expatriate families, children, and adolescents facing the challenges of a mobile life. Since 2016, I have been the School Counsellor at St George’s British International School in Rome, supporting students, parents, and educators within an international community. I also continue my private practice, working online with clients worldwide.
I’m the author of two books, including Growing Up Abroad: the Risks and Benefits of Being a TCK (2022), focused on supporting Italian families living overseas.
As both a professional and a mother of three, I combine evidence-based psychology with empathy and firsthand understanding of what it means to grow and raise children across cultures.
